There are more than 40 languages spoken at the Springdale Public Schools which can naturally create a language barrier between the residents of this community. The Springdale Cultural Center is designed to promote the history, understanding and advancement of the cultures within the community while also creating a central location for residence to gather and learn or enhance their knowledge of a new language. The design of the Springdale Cultural Center focuses on enhancing acoustics, taking advantage of natural daylighting, and creating a connection with the existing historic buildings on the site along with Spring Creek that runs through the town and alongside the site. The layout promotes interaction and conversation which is vital to those learning a new language and promoting their culture. The building seeks to bring the natural elements of the region indoors to create connection with the region while picture framing the natural views of the surrounding site and its history with the community.
